Redis changed from BSD to RSAL/SSPL, which resulted in a number of forks including Valkey (backed by Linux foundation, Amazon, Google, Oracle etc.).
Now Redis has release a version 8.0 with better support for vector database and an AI assistant.
I don't think that will save Redis. Redis is primarily a cache server and too few are interested in a vector database. And there are lots of standalone AI assistants.
