Java taking over AI from Python?

Simon Ritter is not just a random person - he is a very well-known person in the Java world with a distinguished career in USL, Novell, Sun, Oracle and Azul.
But I still think he is wrong.
Yes - a large portion of big companies prefer Java or other JVM languages for their backend code - and I am sure that technology leadership in those companies are pushing for Java to be used for AI.
But:
- AI code is not written by those companies experienced regular developers that know Java - AI code is written by data scientists and new hires that know Python
- Java enterprises is still just a subset of enterprises meaning that there will be more interest in Python AI libraries than in Java AI libraries
and I am also puzzeled by the fact that the suggestion is Java and not another JVM language. Most AI code written is actually code just orchestrating library calls. Even if those libraries were available in Java version, then I would consider Groovy more suited for the task tham Java.
