It is obvious that the UK is falling behind. 2005: #3 -> 2024: #12 speaks volume. And so does UK being behind much smaller countries like Finland and Switzerland.
But is the the result of bad prioritization or the result of UK not having the economical power it once had? If the first then change priorities and get back. If the latter then lowering expectations for UK's role in the world may be the best path forward!
