Leading B$ companies is not a technical role. So tech skills is not a hard requirement.
But I can believe that it is a soft requirement. It is good if the leaders have a basic understanding of what the company is really doing.
Leader who do not care if they are managing an IT company or a car producer or a fast food chain are missing some background understanding.
