DataStax is best known for being the company providing commercial support for the open source Cassandra database.

Cassandra is a wide column NoSQL data store. One of the few viable choices (closest competitor is HBase) when we talk multi-PB databases. Customers include NetFlix and Twitter.

Cassandra is written in Java. But an on-disk-format-compatible product ScyllaDB written in C++ exist.
