The west has more advanced weapons than Russia. Much more advanced weapons. But more advanced does not necessarrily mean better.
Latest Sidewinder missiles are great short range air-to-air missiles.
But using a 2.8 M$ missile to shoot down a 10 K$ drone is not good. The west will run out of Sidewinder missiles way before Russia run out of drones.
