The deal is signed now after some delays. Details still unknown. But it sounds like close to original deal where the US hel starting mineral production and some of the profit goes into a fund investing in rebuilding Ukraine.
It may be an OK deal. But I would not put too much into it. It will take years to get any mineral production started. Ukraine does not really have that many minerals. And I don't think it will fundamentally change the Trump administrations stance towards Russia.
