Scrapping the debt limit would make a lot of sense.
If congress approve a budget with revenue of 1 dollar and spend of 1 dollar 25 cents, then federal need to borrow 25 cent. That is math. It does not make any sense for congress to approve such a budget and then refuse to allow for federal to borrow 25 cents. If congress do not want federal to borrow then they should approve a budget with revenue of 1 dollar and spend of 1 dollar. Approving a budget with a deficit is logically and morally approving of borrowing.
