I don't think Ukraine and the West will accept. Ukraine do not want to give up all that land and they want credible security for the future - very little match western troops in the country for that. EU do not want Russia to move closer to them - they know they are next. And while certain parts of the republican party in the US has been very skeptical about Ukraine support for the past few years, then I get the impression that they are loosing patience with Putin - read the comments on this Fox article - the readers are asking for Ukraine to strike back and tougher sanctions against Russia.
