Tesla if offering Elon Musk 12% extra of the company if he can increase their market cap from 1 T$ to 8 T$.
That is a potential bonus of 1 T$.
I think the bonus size is absurd. But I also think it is so unrealistic that it will get paid out that this is more of a PR stunt than a bonus agreement.
Tesla car sales is plumetting. And all the talk about robots and robotaxis is so far mostly talk. So talking about one million robotaxis seems extremely optimistic.
Note that the bonus is not just tied to market cap but also to EBITDA - it has to exceed 400 B$. It is currently just 11 B$.
