Probably not surprising.
But I don't like the reasons given.
If the prosecution believed that Trump did nothing wrong, then they obviously should drop the case.
If the prosecution believed that it would be unlikely to prove guilt beyond reasonable doubt to a jury, then they should drop the case.
But saying that there is a time problem because they cannot prosecute Trump until his term as president expire in January 2029 and because they do not have the resources to prosecure this case for the next 10 years does not sound right to me.
This is in reality saying that people with influence and money that are difficult to prosecute get preferential treatment compared to the average joe. And that is just not right!
