If we assume an average life span of 80 years then:
1983: 22 million birtths -> population 1.76 billion
2003: 16 million births -> population 1.28 billion
2024: 9 million births -> population 0.72 billion
India has passed China population wise. But at the end of the century countries like Pakistan, Nigeria and Congo may be close to China.
