That a company that expect startup time to be critical for their future applications (FaaS or agressive k8s autoscaling) decide to develop their future applications in Go instead of Java is not surprising.
But it must hurt the Java world a bit in this case. WSO2 is one of the historical important Java companies with huge contributions to Java open source (various Apache web service libraries and more).
(don't wonder about the use of Ballerina - WSO2 invented Ballerina and no surprise that they use their own language)
