It may take some time. JEP 401 (value types) are expected to be part of Java 28 (March 2027), but only as a preview and Java 28 is not a LTS version. The speculation is that it will still be in preview for the next LTS version Java 29 (September 2027). That sounds very plausible since most of the bigger changes have taken 2-5 previes before being ready. So probably out of preview in LTS version for Java 33 (September 2029).
But I think it will happen. Brian Goetz is on it and he will make it happen no matter how many previews it will take.
