JetBrains release Mellum

Not anything surprising in an IDE company adding AI to its products. And it does not seem like Mellum is fundamentally different than any other AI.

But I see a sign in the scope they have chosen. "is designed specifically for code completion (i.e., completing code snippets based on the surrounding context)" is way less ambitions than "replacing all developers in the world with AI". I suspect that the much narrower and less ambitions scope may actually enable them to create a better product.
