Many may not have heard about Grails.
It is a MVC web framework like RoR (Ruby on Rails) and many other.
I don't think it is unique as MVC web framework. Those are as those are - and Grails is no exception.
But the language is Groovy and I think that makes it interesting.
Groovy is a script language. But the the language is a superset of Java meaning that everybody that know Java can code in Groovy. And almost all Java libraries (and there are a lot of relevant Java server libraries) can be used seamless from Groovy. Performance is excellent due to JIT compilation.
