I have always liked Pascal. And I can still code in Pascal. And it was a great language for teaching programming (I did so for 2 years after doing Fortran for 2 years).
But realistically the last 20 years Java/C#/Python has been better options.
But the previous 20 years students should have learned Pascal instead of C/C++. That would have made them so much better.
