Apparently Bun team was not happy with Zig. Memory leaks was not getting caught. They were not happy with how the Zig project worked.
So they let Claude convert it all to Rust.
There is a background for that. Claude use Bun and Anthropic bought Bun (Anthropic is swimming in venture capital) and obviously they used their own tool to convert.
Call me an old grumpy man, but I am not convinced that letting an AI tool convert a million lines of code is producing good software.
