Original link: Rust Coreutils cp Ended Up Breaking Ubuntu Image Builds With Latest Incompatibility / Phoronix.
I think this is rustmania when it is worst.
The traditional coreutils has been working fine for decades. I do not recall any memory safety issues. And even if there is a memory safety issue, then it is not obvioius why it would be a problem. A user could crash their own shell - and so what??
The re-implementation in Rust is breaking actual shell scripts due to in-compatible behavior.
There is no point!
