The world has changed. 40 years ago there were a few little endian architectures (VAX, x86) and the majority was big endian (IBM mainframe, M68K, SPARC, PA, Power etc.). Today the world is little endian (x86-64 and ARM64). Well ARM64 can be put in big endian mode, but nobody does.
