HP bougth Autonomy back in 2011 when then HP CEO Leo Apotheker wanted to get seriously into the software business.

The acquisition turned into a disaster and most of the almost 12 B$ paid was a loss. HP claimed that Autonomy had misrepresented its financials and sued.

When HP split in HP Inc and HPE in 2015 the Autonomy case followed with HPE.

Actually it was several cases both civil and criminal and in both UK and US.

But the last court decision is that the estate after the Autonomy CEO and another Autonomy person must pay HPE 700 million GBP.

Which must be around 10% of the loss.
