Meta won this case. But the judge clearly indicates that it was more due to the authors making their case poorly than the actual merits of the case.
The other case referred to is this where the judge ruled that training AI on books is legal as long as the AI company has actually paid for a copy of the book.
The judge in that case was William Alsup, which is very well known in the IT world as he had the Oracle vs Google case.
